some times we may not be able to get a debug interface due to design miss, cost down or PCB shrink to minimun size. As in today's design on PC, PS2, RS-232, LPT port or even LPC bus and PCI intergace almost disappeared, lots of old style debug card can not be used anymore. As debug via USB or PCI-e is a good way, but how about system hang on the early stage before USB and PCI-e being initialed? ZC1001 may help debug via SPI bus.
with SPI specail 86 or 87 command, you can easily send out 2 bytes check point for debug messages, just hooking with boot code's SPI flash (SPI bus) to get working properly, a nice and practice debug tool for uEFI/EFI BIOS or firmware developors.
